Amanda and Andrew

Amanda and Andrew had never been to Kefalonia before, and were drawn by the beautiful photos and rave reviews from previous weddings.

They also decided that it made perfect sense to have a wedding abroad as they would have great weather, a honeymoon included and great value for money ...

They initially anticipated about 20 guests, but 43 decided to come and share this very special moment with them in May 2014.

Even though it was the second marriage for both, that didn't stop them planning a spectacular wedding ceremony on the beach and reception at a local restaurant.   A lovely wooden arch was in place at both venues with fresh flowers to match Amanda's gorgeous bridal bouquet of white roses ....

Neutral colours were the theme of the day .. Amandas beautiful wedding dress was by Phase Eight .... simple, classic and stylish.... and wore flip-flops for her beach ceremony ....  Andrew wore a stone coloured suit by Reiss, with tan brogues by Russell and Bromley.

"We had two beautiful little flower girls and a page boy. Finley our page boy decided to sit it out with his mum and dad but Isabelle and Lilly did a marvellous job of leading me across the beach to the flower arch.

Finley wore stone coloured shorts and waistcoat with a collar-less shirt from Monsoon and tan sandals. The girls wore cream floaty dresses, ballet type shoes from Monsoon and flower hair crowns from Nettle and Tulip."

Some 'alone time' after the ceremony allowed for some amazing photos for their wedding album.

"Our wedding cake was vanilla with fresh cream and strawberries running through it, with a white chocolate ganache on the outside. The lovely team in Kefalonia knew that I am a chef and I think they wanted to impress. That they did ! My God what a cake, it was exceptional! Everyone commented on it. I really wasn't expecting it to be that good, probably one of the best I've ever tasted, yum!

For our main we decided to go Greek and opted for a meze. Again without exaggeration the food was outstanding, very fresh, well cooked, well presented and it just kept coming. We certainly ate like kings and queens all evening! Even now family and friends comment on how good it was and how beautiful the reception venue was with its panoramic views.

Having emailed a picture of how I would like the tables decorated, with local rustic style flowers in small buckets, I got exactly what I'd asked for. They were perfect.

For the evening entertainment we had a DJ who was fantastic and had everyone up and dancing. I was worried that the music selection might be limited, but you name it, he had it. It also has to be said that he was very patient as he did get bombarded with requests and handled it very well ! "
