Not all our weddings are 'grand' affairs ..... many couples like to keep it simple and low-key, but still having a memorable wedding of their dreams.
Having been together for 10 years, and with 2 children, that is exactly what Ian and Lyndsay had in mind when they contacted My Greek Wedding Planners ... they wanted to get married on this beautiful island, during a civil ceremony in the town hall, with just immediate family attending ... and that included their two beautiful little girls who acted as flower-girls.
How did Ian finally pop the question??
"We were driving into town and we got
talking ... next thing we were in a ring
shop and POP - there was an engagement ring on my finger..... At least I got to
choose my own ring, which Ian approved of, of course!"
Why Kefalonia ??
"I have always wanted to get married abroad and my sister,
who at the time worked in travel, recommended Kefalonia. We had never been, but as soon as we booked it, we heard
nothing but good reports about the place and we were really looking forward to
visiting ... of course, we have also seen the film ‘Captain Corellis Mandolin ....
....I searched the internet looking for
wedding planners and came across My Greek Wedding Planners. After booking
our villa, it turned out that someone who lived in my area had also got married
in Kefalonia in 2011 with the help of My Greek Wedding and also stayed in the same
villa . They highly recommended them to us."
Next was the wedding dress .... Lyndsay choose a beautiful Essence
of Australia, Chiffon sheath, column gown, off white, very elegant & light
weight ... perfect for a mid-July wedding in Kefalonia.
She looked amazing when she pulled up at Skala Town Hall with her two girls... all the boys were dressed in matching trousers and shirts .... and the photographer captured some great moments before, during and after the ceremony. After a short, informal ceremony by the vice-mayor, with some extra input from Lyndsay's sister, the newlyweds arranged for a private party at their villa, and we understand, the celebrations went on LONG into the warm, summer night.
"It was certainly unforgettable. At first we
thought it was going to be hard work to arrange a wedding in a different
country, but you and Kostas made it easy for us, you answered
our emails promptly and arranged everything, thank you! All our family
and friends had a fantastic day too and we couldn't have picked a more
beautiful place to get married or choose two better people to have
arranged our wedding for us."
