Joanna and Triantafyllos

June 2017

For Joanna, this double wedding celebration was a dream come true.... to come to Kefalonia and marry her greek fiance ... first in a Greek Orthodox ceremony and then on a sandy beach, decorated in her favourite colour purple .... witnessed by 50 family members and friends from all over Europe.

A lot of thought and effort went into putting this beautuful wedding day together, both on Joanna's part and MGW.  After a Skype phone call early in the planning, all the details and timings were finely tuned to ensure everything went smoothly and exactly as she wanted it.

Her new husband-to-be, Triantafyllos, visited Kefalonia for the first time together with Joanna earlier in the year and completely understood right away why she loved the island so much.

Their church ceremony took place at the main Greek Orthodox Church in Skala ... a beautiful ceremony with all of the unique traditions that make this ceremony so special and meaningful.

Afterwards, a horse and carriage brought the newlyweds for a trot around Skala town, to soak in the moment and spend some alone time together, before heading to the next ceremony on Skala beach...conducted this time in english.

Drinks afterwards were greatly appreciated by all in the heat of the summer sun... a lovely selection of refreshing gin & tonics, lemonade punch (greek style) and non-alcoholic refreshments too.

Their reception meal was held at Apostolata Hotel, just minutes from the ceremony area ... where a huge spread of food was laid on to suit all of their dietary requests.  While everyone was eating, a live greek band and greek dancers entertained the guests ... who also got up dancing with them to learn a few greek steps.

And the party did not end there .. DJ Thomas got the party going (and going....) with all their favourite songs and more... including, of course, Joanna's favourite musical, Mamma Mia.

A professional photographer and videographer were on hand all day to capture every special moment ... Nothing was spared on this amazing and emotional day for Joanna & Triantafyllos ... They took extra special of all their guests, including dinner before the wedding day, lunch after the wedding day as well as goody bags in their hotel rooms with detailed information about the island, and an itinerary of the wedding day itself.
